Off the bike
Staying in, sticking it out through my injuries. Trying to get proper rest to heal but i'm impatient. Cycling has become so much a part of my life i begin to feel frustrated when i'm not riding. Seems as though when i'm riding i am able to free my mind of all troubles of the world. Financial, relationships, my job everything gets left behind in the miles i travel and the only thing that seems to matter is becoming a better me physically, mentally, emotionally. What truely matters is whether or not i'm keeping my cadence, the reading of my heart on my polar, and where my next ride will take me. These injuries won't get the best of me, I will ride and ride soon even if it's just to work and back, cycling will not be set back. See ya on the road!

Bummer
Our local club Cactus Cruzerx, hosted a pre trial short track at a course that is mostly used for motorcross. The owner of the track and club president worked out a spot for us to host a short track series or cyclocross. So we headed out for some fun with the aprox. 15 club members, was good to see jack back in town. First pre-ride was a 15min time stage pretty fun if you paced it. Second decision was to do a two man relay. And we're off, it was a mass start which went pretty good until i bonked (literaly). Rumor has it i was going to fast and caught some air landing me about 15ft away from my launch and the landing did not go too good but don't recall anyway how this all took place. Don't remeber the ride on the ambulance or trying to hook up with the blonde medic (yes she was female) which didn't help that my gf came along for the ride on the ambulance. LOL :) Was release from hospital with no broken bones but some pretty sore ribs, bruised up shoulder and more pain to my ego, oh wait the meds got me feeling pretty darn good. In all this was a fun course that yes I would do all over again just with alot more caution. Till next time keep the cranks turning and by all means keep the rubber side down.

Anticipation of a....

My 1st blog after reading some of my buddies blogs, thought i'd give it a shot. So who am i, just another guy with a big dream to someday ride every single track from mexico to alaska that is anticipating a day off as i prepare to continue my training. just a short few days ago, ok so it was saturday morning, i joined in on a mtb century ride to celebrate the blessing of another year of life for an older gentleman. admiring the strength, determination and and endurance of all the riders, so i'm not in the shape i was at my last race but it got me off my arse. i was able to ride 75miles of the 100, sold myself short but was able to get motivated to get out and ride again. Word has it we will be doing another birthday celebration ride. i got to tell you, you may think we are crazy but there is nothing like the comraderie and knowing that someone crazier than you will get out and do such a celebration ride at a speed that would probably have someone else heart popping out and reaching their LTHR, nothing like the feel of your legs burning to a point where ya know your going to cramp at that moment or be dead sore the following day. So today i will get out and ride whether to train or just get out and spin them cranks, i will keep the rubber side down and prepare for whatever ride life has to enjoy. See ya at the next race!
